{ross boys - 6ish months}

landon and logan would take the cake if there was a "most patient baby" prize. six months is such a magical age...they were just starting to make hilarious facial expressions and roll from side to side. but with sweltering heat and two babies, summer can make photos much more challenging!

i photographed these adorable babes over two sessions - once in june and once in july. it's incredible how much the twins changed in a few short weeks...and don't forget about the first time i met them!

it's amazing to watch kate and justin with their boys. so easy going. so fun. so patient (it's obvious where landon and logan get this trait). these are some of my favorite family images to date!

 look at what a huge difference a month can make!

"who is this lady with the camera anyway?"

{my list: july}

my name is lauren and i love to make lists.

to-do lists, grocery lists, work tasks, movies to rent, spreadsheets, christmas lists, checklists, you name it...i love them all. it's my way of de-cluttering all that gray matter living deep in my brain.

here's a little peak at what's at the "top" of my list this month...

  • clean eating - i've been doing a lot of research on how to "eat cleaner." more veggies. more fruit. less unnecessary gluten. {it should be mentioned that i still stuff my face with starbucks and the occasional brownie when i'm given the chance...this is a work in progress, people!}
  • rediscovering my cell phone camera - i had no idea how great my little phone camera was until this spring. it's turned into full blown love. mix in a hip little camera app and i might never put this darn thing down.
  • pinterest - i was curious, but i resisted. did i really need another web-site to help me procrastinate? ohhhhhh but i caved. and little did i know this would take my love of organizing and list-making to a whole new level. check it out here!
  • goodwill therapy - "out with the old...and in with the new!" i shared a witty text message conversation with my friend, ashley, about this very topic. she's moving to a new city in north carolina and starting grad school (three cheers for her!!!) there is simply something addictive about bagging up my outdated clothes, parting with millions of scotty's brewhouse glasses from my college days and cleaning out my storage closets. it makes me smile. (and according to ashley, it makes moving a much happier chore)
  • ancestry - find out where you came from. talk to your relatives, your own parents, your creepy cousin (luckily, my cousins are all incredibly awesome, so this was painless). write down what you find...you'll be happy you did!

    happy friday!

    {4th of july}

    i feel like a little kid today. {note: fairly typical}

    i am giddy with excitement to see fireworks, inevitably burn myself play with sparklers and eat some delicious summer treats tonight. at the risk of sounding slightly like a pyromaniac, i love the whistling noise that comes right before that explosion of colors in the sky. and there's something nostalgic about tuning in to listen to the same radio station playing the same old play list of synchronized music for the firework show. it feels like summer has officially arrived.

    happy independence day!
